Hike Information

Join us on this guided 3.5 mile hike in beautiful Brown County, Indiana. Maintained by the Sycamore Land Trust, the Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill trail was completed by the Hoosier Hikers Council in 2017. The trail takes hikers on a path through ridgelines, valleys and back making this a moderate to rugged hike. The full loop is close to 6 miles long, we will hike 3 miles on the south side of the loop. This hike is free of charge! Directions: From the intersection of SR 46 and SR 135/Van Buren St in Nashville, drive east on SR 46 toward Gnaw Bone for 5.5 miles until you reach Valley Branch Rd. Turn right on Valley Branch and drive 1.5 miles. Turn left into a small gravel parking lot. Recommended Gear: • Small day pack or hip pack • Trekking poles • At least 1 liter of water • Snacks
